Thomas T. Nowak Obituary

Thomas T. "Tom" Nowak, 70, of Logansport, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 25, 2020.

Born December 15, 1949, in South Bend, he was the son of the late Theodore and Helen (Karter) Nowak.

Tom grew up in South Bend, living next door to the family business, Nowak's Meat Market and Grocery, in a tight-knit Polish community. He attended parochial school at St. Casimir's and was a 1967 graduate of Washington High School in South Bend. He graduated from Tri-State College with a degree in engineering and certification in tool and die casting.

For many years, Tom worked as a tool and die product engineer at Winamac Steel Products. In 1985, he moved to Texas to work at Trinity Forge, retiring in 2010.

Tom was a member of the Catholic Church. He never knew a stranger and had mastered the art of conversation to perfection.

Surviving are his wife, Alana Nowak, Oklahoma; his daughter, Erin Nowak, Logansport, son, Todd Nowak (Megan Cecil), California, step-children, Tom (Shannon) Henry, Florida, and Angela Townsend (Chris Morris) Kokomo; his former wife and mother of his children, Mary Lou (David) Hults, Florida; Alana's children, Cynthia Duncan, Dr. Seth Miller and Nicole Williams, all of Oklahoma; a cousin, Jim (Linda) Nowak, of Warsaw, who was more like a brother to him; cousin, JoEllen (Stephen) Miller, Mishawaka; two grandchildren, Kinsleigh and Rylan; thirteen grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Jordan, Alli, Sean, Quin, Erica, Emma, Charles, Shelby, Braden and Maddison; and four great-grandchidlren.

A Funeral Service celebrating Tom's life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 31 in Fisher Funeral Chapel

Interment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends will be received from noon until the time of the service on Friday in the funeral chapel.
