SOUTH BEND - Loretta Marie Kollar, 68, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Loretta was born September 20, 1949 in South Bend, to the late Joseph and Eva (Davis) Klocek.
On October 15, 1988, Loretta married Jack Woods “Woody” Kollar. He survives along with children, Angela (Jesse) Pedraza and Joanna Jacobson; grandchildren, Alyssa (Rogelio Sanchez) Garza, Tesla (Ed Reyes) Hardesty, Taylor Schermerhorn, and Jesus Jr., Benito, Victoria, Pablo, Julia, Jacob, Elana & Elizabeth Pedraza; great- grandchildren, Nathalia & Izabel Sanchez, and Eli, Leo, Jesus III, Benito Jr., Brayden, Jose, Noe Jr., Aubriana & Raquel Pedraza; and sister, Patricia (David) Sczymak.
Loretta retired from the City of South Bend Parks Department where she was a Youth Sports and Family Coordinator. She was very passionate about the wellbeing of the community, its children and the River City Basketball program. Loretta had fond memories of being the lunch lady at Navarre School. During her time as a member of the school board, she became acting president and was proud to get people’s attention and make some changes during her duration. Loretta enjoyed trips to Daytona & New Buffalo Beaches, Casino’s, and Disney’s Magic Kingdom. She never let the family miss watching Tinkerbell fly over the castle. She was an avid NBA & Notre Dame Woman’s basketball fan, and enjoyed listening to the Beatles, and Willie Nelson.
Visitation for Loretta will take place 4:00pm to 6:30pm Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Funeral Ceremony will begin at 6:30pm.
