Ronald Paul Strzelecki
Ron passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 12, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. Ron was born in South Bend, Indiana on January 11, 1950 to Virginia (Gadacz) Strzelecki who preceded him in death.
On January 11, 2007 he married Laura J. Miltenberger, who survives along with his children Ronald Ryan (Denise) Strzelecki, Amy Bradburn (Ray Ginter), and step-daughter Gloria (Cory) Scheibelhut. Grandchildren, Dylan Bradburn (Alyssa Vanator), Carter Bradburn, Emily Strzelecki, and Sydney Strzelecki. He is also survived by his sisters, Ruth (Dennis) Dulcet, Linda (Dave) Krzyzaniak, nephew, Andy Dulcet, nieces, Stephanie (David) Decker and Kim (Kyle) Hueston. He was preceded in death by his beloved niece, Kelly Ann Dulcet and grandparents John and Mary (Ciesiolka) Gadacz.
Ron grew up helping on the family farm in Terre Coupee and was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School. He completed his apprenticeship with IBEW Local #153 in 1972 and was a proud member for 55 years. He enjoyed farming with Randy at Szczypiorski Farms for over 20 years.
He was a member of PNA #83 Fisherman’s Club, Bassmasters of Northern Indiana, and PNA #3078 where he enjoyed playing euchre with “the guys” on Friday nights.
In his younger years, Ron enjoyed drag racing his 69’ Nova. He was an avid fisherman and fished hard! He loved the many hours spent fishing with his dear fishing buddies, Jim Tisdale, Mike Hendricks and Jim Sexton. He loved playing cards and games, watching NHRA racing, and reading Stephen King and Clive Cussler books. He especially loved having cookouts and spending time with family and friends around the campfire.
Per Ron’s request there will be no funeral service, however, a celebration of life luncheon will take place at PNA #3078, 55969 Tulip Road, New Carlisle on Sunday, May 19th from Noon - 4:00 pm est. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PNA #3078.
