SOUTH BEND — Services for Charles R. "Chuck" Dietl II, 22, of 4403 W. Washington St., who died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday in Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hollìs-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. He had been burned Saturday in the explosion of a propane heater at a construction site north of Elkhart. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Mr. Dietl was employed by Weiss Homes Inc. as a foreman. He was born Oct. 10, 1973, in South Bend.
He is survived by a companion, Sara Sousley of Mishawaka; his mother, Gloria Dietl of Mishawaka; two sisters, Kelly Dietl and Kim Laird, both of South Bend; and paternal grandmother, Kathleen M. Dietl of South Bend. He was a graduate of Washington High School, a member of Tough Guy Mini-Truck Club, Chippewa Bowling League, and was active in sand volleyball.
