Condolences

SOUTH BEND - Esther (Tracie) Cummings passed peacefully on the evening of December 27, 2016 in Anacortes, WA where she resided for the past 8 years. Esther was born in South Bend, IN to Casmir and Charlotte (Borlik) Waligorski, graduated from Washington High School, Ball State University and went on to attend Grant Hospital Nursing Program in Chicago.

Tracie met her husband, Theodore P. Cummings who attended Notre Dame University, and when he returned from serving in the Navy, they were married on Aug. 3, 1946 in the historic log chapel. They were among the first residents of Vetville and she was a contributor to the Vet Gazette. She returned often to South Bend for Fighting Irish football games and alumni events.

In 1949, Tracie moved to Seattle, WA where she spent the majority of her life. Tracie loved bowling, golfing, boating and salmon fishing.

Tracie was preceded in death by her loving husband Ted on December 27, 1994 and her sister, Adeline Warniers on October 6, 2016. She is survived by her sister, Ethel Jean Forte of South Bend, IN, son, Theodore P. (Leslie) Cummings, Jr. of Anacortes, WA; daughters, Lynne (Robert) Swaine of Mesa, AZ, MaryKay Cummings of Florence, OR and Constance (Michael) Goldman of Landenburg, PA, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A private family entombment took place at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery, Shoreline WA; the arrangements were made by Evans Funeral Chapel of Anacortes.
