Kenneth D Lee - Class Of 1976

SOUTH BEND - Kenneth Demyers Lee, affectionately known as “Kenny,” 58, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Saturday, October 1st, 2016, at 11:34 p.m. at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka, IN. Before Kenny left this earth, he confessed Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was born on January 8th, 1958, (the coldest day of the year according to Kenny) in South Bend, IN, to the union of the late Demyers and Frances (Spann) Lee. As a lifelong resident of South Bend, IN, Kenny attended Washington High School and graduated in 1976. After high school, Kenny received his Associate Degree in Accounting from Ivy Tech Community College. Kenny was the proud owner of Demyers Car Wash on Lincolnway West from 1993-1996. His employment history included Levy Restaurant as a Concession Stand supervisor, at the University of Notre Dame where he was employed at the time of his passing. Kenny enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his mother, daughters and grandchildren. He leaves to cherish many fond and loving memories Portia Carew, his significant other for six years; his mother, Frances Lee; two daughters, Kenisha Lee, Mo'Nique Sylvester; seven grandchildren, Jeermal Franklin, Shai'Briana Lee, Darrien Hatcher, Ja'Kaylah Johnson, Malia Pfeifer, Preston Hampton, Mia Pfeifer; two brothers, Andrew (Jackie) Lee, Anthony (Germaine) Lee; three sisters, Janice (Edward) Warren, all of South Bend, Tossie (Jimmie) Sigh of Atlanta, Georgia, Lovie Coleman of St. Louis, MO; and a special niece, Kewanna (James) Gordon of Indianapolis, IN; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Kenny was preceded in death by his loving father, Demyers Lee, and one sister, Lilly Ruth Lee. A viewing for Kenny will be held on Friday, October 7th, 2016, from 5p.m. until 8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, 3525 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana. Services for Kenny will be held on Saturday, October 8th 2016, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
