SOUTH BEND - Robert Earl Tell, age 57, of South Bend, Indiana passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Robert was born October 15, 1958 in South Bend, Indiana to Howard and Mary Tell. Robert went to Washington High School were he was a member of the Wrestling Team. He served in the United States Army for several years and then started his career as a chef, where he continued to work until a brief illness occurred and he had to retire. Robert loved hanging out with his brothers and friends playing cards and dominoes. His hearty laugh will truly be missed.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Mary L. Tell of South Bend, Indiana; three brothers, Melvin L. Silas (Derise) of Grand Prairie, Texas, Howard Tell Jr. of South Bend, Indiana and William T. Tell (Lisa) of Arlington, Texas; four nephews and three nieces, a host of other relatives and friends, and his fiance', Penny C. Iavagnilio of South Bend, Indiana.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Howard Tell Sr., his brother, Willie Lee Silas and his sister, Millie A. Silas.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Alford's Mortuary with burial following at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Viewing will occur on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Alford's Mortuary.
