Julius Stuckey

Julius Jackqui Stuckey

September 23, 1987 ~ January 8, 2020 (age 32)

Julius Jackqui Stuckey, affectionately known as “J.J.” and “Daddy”, passed away from this life on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his home. Julius was born in South Bend, IN on September 23, 1987 to the union of Robert Earl and Gloria Ann Stuckey.

Julius was a quiet and unassuming man who loved his family and would gladly do anything he could to help out anyone. Julius had a photographic memory and loved gobbling up knowledge. He loved reading and would leave his home early in the morning so he could spend hours reading at the library before going to work at the job he’d held since his sophomore year at Washington High School.

He was a dedicated employee at Wendy’s restaurant on South Michigan Street, where he had been employed for seventeen years. J.J.’s manager said he was the most dedicated employee she had ever had. He would come in on his days off, work overtime if they needed him and was willing to do whatever was asked of him.

Julius loved to cook and he also loved to eat! He was an avid basketball fan who loved the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers. He knew the stats and history of every player and could build charts, stats and grafts on every one of them at a moment’s notice. Julius confessed his love of Christ at an early age and he loved the Lord dearly.

Julius leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Gloria Ann Stuckey (Lewis T. Owens, Sr.) of Riverdale, GA; one sister, Rickyea Stuckey of South Bend, IN; two brothers, Robert Earl (Mercedes) and Michael (Aja) Stuckey, both of South Bend, IN; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Julius was preceded in death by his father, Robert Earl Stuckey, Sr. and his little brother, Louis Matthew Jordan Owens III, who passed away suddenly at the age of 12.

Services for Julius “J.J.” Stuckey will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Homes - West Chapel, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, IN 46628. Friends may call on the family for visitation for an hour prior to services at the funeral home. Online expressions of sympathy may be left at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
