SOUTH BEND - Patricia Ann Szalewski, 69, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Pat was born July 21, 1946, in South Bend, to the late John and Violet (Stachowski) Staszewski. Patricia was also preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Staszewski.

On November 28, 1964, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Pat married her loving husband of 50 years, Ralph Szalewski, who survives along with their children, Rachelle (Alan) Michalski, Lori (Alan) Hoffman, and John Szalewski; grandchildren, William and Michael Hoffman, and Carl and Cade Michalski; brother-in-law, Ted Szalewski, sister-in-law, Carol Staszewski; and nephews, James, Steve and Robbie Staszewski, and Tom, Tim and Troy Szalewski.

Pat was a graduate of Washington High School. She was employed with Saint Mary's College for 33 years then Holy Cross Village after retiring. Pat was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She cared about her job and the Saint Mary's family; she always enjoyed decorating for events and holidays there. Pat loved watching her children and grandchildren's sporting events, she never missed a game, family meant the world to her. Pat always gave to others and put them before herself. Her family and dog “P” Peanut will miss all the love she gave them.

Visitation for Pat is 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, April 24, 2016, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., with a Rosary being prayed at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday, April 24, 2016, in Holy Family Catholic Church.
