Roger A. Richard
May 13, 1952 ~ March 9, 2024 (age 71)
Roger A. Richard, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at his home in Walkerton, Indiana. Roger was born in Dallas, Texas on May 13, 1952 to the late Joseph Richard and Nancy (Brown) Marcotte. Roger grew up on the west side of South Bend, Indiana. Roger attended Washington High School.
On April 3, 1982 he married Kathleen M. Prout. He owned and operated a trucking company working with Inway/Landstar Trucking. He really enjoyed his career and traveling the country. St. Christopher has always protected him on his travels. He had many stories about his travels that he loved to share with his family.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards with the “guys” and euchre with his family. He also loved watching the hummingbirds. He enjoyed spending time with family more than anything else and touched the hearts of many.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons, Randy (Jodi) Richard; Ryan (Teri) Richard; Joseph Richard; daughter, Sarah Richard; sister, Donna (Wayne) Laughlin; brothers, Lewis (Tami) Marcotte; Joseph Richard; Richard (Jennifer) Marcotte; grandchildren, Kyle, Cody (Brooklyn), Madison, Aubree, Preston, Payton, Persayus, Parker, Kyila, and Evan; great granddaughter, Marcie; daughter in law Kim Kryski; and several nieces, nephews, cousins. He was also a beloved Godfather.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Richard, Nancy and Roland Marcotte, and a brother, Robert “Crickett” Richard.
Roger will be dearly missed by his wife, family and friends. Whom; he loved more than anything else in life.
A Celebration of Roger’s Life will be held on May 11th from 1-5pm at the American Legion Post 357, 5414 W Sample St. South Bend, IN 46619.
