Maurice Mattens Aug. 18, 1923-Dec. 8. 1992 EDWARDSBURG Services for Maurice Maurie Mattens, 69, of 70878 Michigan 62 S., who died at 11 p.m. Tuesday in his home after an illness, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Burial will be in Adamsville Cemetery, where members of the American Legion Post 365 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be at 7 p.m., and after 10 a.m. Friday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Hospice.

Mr. Mattens was retired from sales and service from I.T.E.K. of Detroit and Radio & TV Distributors of South Bend.

He was born Aug. 18, 1923, in South Bend. On Sept 20, 1944, in South Bend, he married Virginia Piechocki. She survives with two daughters, Valerie Knapp of Edwardsburg and Marcia Stevens of Plainwell, Mich.; two sons, Roger of Richland, Mich., and David of Santa Rosa, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and a brother, George of South Bend.

Mr. Mattens was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the church, Edwardsburg Conservation Club, Elkhart Moose, Four Lakes Country Club and Michiana Polka-Mass Singers, a past commander of the American Legion and a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2284.
