Annette (Csaszar) Hemig

Annette Hemig, a lifelong resident of South Bend, IN, passed away on March 14, 2024. She was born on November 23, 1947 to the late Joseph and Frances Csaszar. Annette graduated from Washington High School in South Bend and was a proud Panther. She then continued her education at Ivy Tech College.

Annette married Alan R. Hemig, and together they raised two children. Annette is survived by daughter Diane (Aaron) Hipsher, and son David Hemig. Annette is also survived by Grandchildren Christian (Nicole Strall) Vellner, Daltin Hipsher, Christi Vellner, Charissa Vellner, Elizabeth Hemig, and Melody Hemig, and great-grandchildren Bellamy, Penelope, Vincent, Naomi, and Oliver. Sister, Jeannette Shepherd and brothers Joseph (Karen) Csaszar Jr. and Stephen Csaszar. Annette was preceded by her parents, her husband Alan and Brother-n-law Basil “Buck” Shepherd.

Annette was a homemaker and she embraced the digital age and liked working on computers. Annette and her husband, Alan, shared a love for travel, frequently setting sail on cruises that created lasting memories. Beyond her home and personal interests, Annette found solace and expression through writing poetry. Annette will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished.

Services for Annette will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home and again on Thursday beginning at 10:00 AM. Immediate burial at Southlawn Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be donated to Fellowship Baptist Church, 4849 Ford Street, South Bend, IN 46619.
