Roger J.Beke

SOUTH BEND — Roger J.Beke, 82, of South Bend, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010, in Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 1, 1927, in South Bend, to the late Roger C.and Marie (VanTornhout) Beke, and was a lifelong area resident.

On May 2, 1953, he married Esther Simonis, who survives. Along with his loving wife of 56 years, he is survived his two daughters, Barbara Botka of South Bend and Diana (Michael) Meeks of Columbus, OH;three grandchildren, Marie, Claire and Joseph Meeks; a sister, Elinor (Richard) Logan of Creal Springs, IL; and a brother, Elmer (Sue) Beke of Pittsford, NY.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Sargeant, and by a son-in- law, Paul Botka.

Mr.Beke retired from Bendix in 1990 after 45 years of service.He served in the United States Army Air Corps. Roger was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and was a member of American Legion Post #50, South Bend.
