SOUTH BEND - Anthony Gabriel Igaz, 71, of Katy, Texas, formerly of South Bend, died Friday morning in Katy Medical Center.

Mr. Igaz was born March 26, 1923, in South Bend, and lived most of his life in this area, going to Katy four years ago. On April 26, 1947, in South Bend, he married Loretta Dargiewicz. She survives, with two daughters, Toni Marie Smith of Mishawaka and Julie Igaz of South Bend; three sons, Gregory and Paul, both of Katy, and Fred of Santa Barbara, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Ethel Staley and Eleanore McColm, both of South Bend.

He was a member of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, Katy, and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 36, South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, Katy. Cremation will take place. Schmidt Funeral Home handled arrangements.
