Edward J. Wrobel

South Bend – Edward J. Wrobel, 89, passed away at 3:20pm on Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Holy Cross Village of Notre Dame.

Edward was born on August 9, 1921 in Poland, to the late Karol and Josephine (Wilusz) Wrobel. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Angela Wrobel and Chesterine Jaroszewski; and by his brother, Al Wrobel.

On November 11, 1950 he married Clementine (Majcher) Wrobel; she survives along with their children, Patricia (David) Martin of South Bend and Barbara (Charles) Dreiling of Denver, CO; two grandchildren, Sarah White of Milwaukee, WI and Kristin (John) Bramfield of Algonquin, IL; a great grandson, John Martin Bramfeld; and by his sister, Irene Wiskotoni.

Edward honorably served his country in the United States Army, during WWII. He was a machinist with South Bend Controls retiring after 33 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 357, IBEW 153 and West Side Democratic Club. He enjoyed working on the lawn and gardening. He was an avid reader and walker..
