SOUTH BEND — Michael S. Rodick, 84, formerly of Hampshire Street in South Bend, died Sunday, July 22, 2007, in the Tidewell Hospice House, Bradenton, FL.He was accompanied during the final hours of his journey by his niece, Joan Wisner, and his nephew, Doug Rodick. Mr.Rodick was born on October 6, 1922, to Peter and Elaine (Derlich) Rodick.They preceded him in death along with four sisters, Edith Winslow, Mary Horvath, Cecelia Balcerzak and Angela Turner;and two brothers, Nick Rodick and Joseph Rodick.

Mike retired in 1983 from the former Adams-Remco Company where he was employed in the business machine sales and repair.Mike and his wife Joan moved to the Bradenton area where they established many new friends while still remaining close to well-established friends and family “back home.”

On October 2, 1963, Mike married the former Joan Jontz in South Bend.She preceded him in death on September 1, 2001, as did his son Gary in 1981.

Surviving are two sisters, Millie (Nick) Garbacz of West Palm Beach, FL, and Violet King of South Bend;and a brother, Donald “Dutch” (Sharon) Rodick of South Bend.He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

Mike was a member of the American Legion Post 24, B.P.O.E.#1511 and Moose Lodge 2188 of Anna Maria Island, FL.

Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m.Thursday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Ave. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m.Friday in the funeral home.Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 3355 26th.St.W., Bradenton, FL 34205.
