SOUTH BEND Eugene Reier, 73, of East Fairview Avenue, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday in Cardinal Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Rejer retired in 1988 from AM General Corp. He was bom Nov. 22, 1922, In South Bend.
On March 28, 1964, in South Bend, he married Elizabeth Vicsik. She survives with two stepdaughters, Jerri Shultz of Alamosa, Colo., and Bobbie Jo Donathen of Corona, Calif.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Ganser of Mishawaka and Winnie VanPaemel of Osceola; and a brother, Marion of South Bend.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1167 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 39.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Matthew Cathedral. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemeteiy. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m.
