Andrew Richard Popielski, 76, of Mishawaka, Ind., formerly of Locust Lane and Magician Lake, Sister Lakes, Mich., died on Tuesday evening, Nov. 30, in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind. Richard retired from Allied Stamping after 25 years as a metal finisher.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1923, in South Bend, Ind., to Andrew and Martha (Pierzynski) Popielski, who preceded him in death. Richard was married on June 25, 1949, in South Bend, to Pauline Agnes Geifing, who died on Aug. 16, 1988. He is survived by three daughters, Victoria (Stephen) Abernathy of Mishawaka, Ind., Karen Wilson and Kathy Eby, both of South Bend; three grandchilden, Anthony, Ron and Stephanie; a great-grandson, Anthony, Jr.;-two sisters, Dorothy Pacay and Ruth Szekendi, both of South Bend; and . by a brother, Daniel Popielski of South Bend.

Richard was a World War II Army veteran, and a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, with Rev. Pioter Krakowiak of St. Hedwig's Catholic Church officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call from 11 am. until time of services in the funeral home on Saturday. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimers Association, P.O.Box 4204, South Bend, IN 46634-4204
