Gloria Frances (Nowicki) Carr

GRANGER - Gloria F. Carr, 91, of Granger, passed away on May 9th at Emeritus Senior Living at Arborwood. Gloria was born in South Bend on October 4, 1922, to the late Valentine William and Frances (Bucholtz) Nowicki. On June 6, 1956, in South Bend, she married Howard O. Carr; he survives.

Gloria was a member at St. Pius X Catholic Church and was active with the St. Pius Women's Group. She had a great love of the outdoors. Her favorite place was her cottage on the shores of Lake Michigan. She was very athletic, playing tennis; she was an accomplished table tennis player, also enjoying racquet ball and ice skating; she was even a ballroom dance instructor.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Howard, several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved as if they were her own. She also leaves behind many dear lifelong friends.

Gloria was preceded in death by her siblings, Bill and Marvin Nowicki, and Geraldine Vanderver.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, May 12th, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. A service celebrating Gloria's life will be held at 1:00 PM with Fr. Terry Coonan officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Preserve the Dunes, Inc., P.O. Box 581, Riverside, MI 49084; or the American Heart Association , 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
