John Victor Mariel

John was born on October 23, 1923 in South Bend to Sylvester and Katherine Mariel. He retired from Torrington and was a World War II Army veteran and member of the Calvert Rod & Gun Club. On August 28, 1948 he married the former Mary E. Henye. She died on August 29, 2002. He was also preceded in death by a sister Agnes Hess and brother Henry Mariel.

Surviving are two sons James (Vicky) Mariel of Goshen and Gary (Kristee) Mariel of Mishawaka, and two grandsons Eric and Shawn.

Funeral services will be celebrated at 10:00am Thursday, August 11, 2016 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care.
