Dorothy Kosiak (Lindorf) - Class Of 1941 VIEW PROFILE

Dorothy M. (Kosiak) Lindorf

Dorothy M. Lindorf, at the ripe age of 101, passed away peacefully with her daughter and her son at her bedside, on August 29, 2023 after a brief illness at Healthwin Specialized Care Facility.

Dorothy was born August 1, 1922 in South Bend to the late Roman & Henrietta Kosiak. She was preceded in death by her husband, Casimir; sister, Geraldine Cyman, and most recently deceased sister, Jane Dobrucki, her best friend.

Left to cherish the memory are her children, Pam (Bruce) Petersohn and Brian (Lisa) Lindorf; grandchildren, Dr Leslie (J.J.) Parent, Scott Petersohn, Tyler Lindorf, and Tanner Lindorf. Granny Dort was extremely proud of all her grandkids and their accomplishments and was quick to share about them with anyone that would listen. Dort was blest with three great-grandchildren, Owen and Miles Parent; and Portlyn Lindorf. They were the apple of her eye.

Dorothy was fortunate to be a stay-at-home Mom. She was an avid reader who loved to sing, shop and dance with her sisters and husbands, great bunch of friends. Most important to her was being with family. She not only enjoyed the company of her nieces & nephews, but also great-nieces and the entertainment of her great nephews as they were growing up. Her extended family was always ready to party. We are sure that she is now partying with all of her loved ones in heaven.

Dorothy loved the attention of all the nurses at Healthwin, "especially Smitty & Rebecca", all the wonderful aides "especially Jill" the terrific activity staff who brought joy and fun to mom's day, Jenny, Jessica, Kelly, Kim, and Travis and to everyone in the dining hall who put up with mom's feistiness! Thank you all for you dedication and work ethic.

Friends and family will be received 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in St. St. Joseph Funeral Home & Cemetery, 824 S Mayflower Road with a rosary to be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in Holy Family Catholic Church with a one-hour visitation prior to the Mass in the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Heart-to-Heart Hospice or Healthwin Activity Department.
