Emiel A Dhaeze - Class Of 1941 VIEW PROFILE

Emiel A. Dhaeze

Emiel A. Dhaeze, 83, of Peggy Drive in South Bend, Indiana, passed away in his home on Monday, November 14, 2005. Emiel was born on June 17, 1922, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to Peter and Elizabeth (VanOverbeek) Dhaeze. Mr. Dhaeze retired from the Associates Corporation in 1978 as an accounting supervisor. He then went to work for the South Bend Community School Corporation, retiring in 1983.

On April 15, 1944, in South Bend, Emiel married Alice DeCook, who survives. Surviving with his wife of 61 years are his daughter, Rebecca (Jon) Giszewski of South Bend; a son-in-law, Gary Klepper of Detroit, Michigan; two grandchildren, Nathan and Sarah Giszewski, both of South Bend; a great-grandson, Cameron Giszewski; and a sister, Sophie DeCook of South Bend.

Emiel's daughter, Karen Sue Klepper, preceded him in death in 1999.

Mr. Dhaeze was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the German Club, the Knights of Columbus #5570, American Legion Post #50, and was a WWII Army veteran who fought under General Patton in the Battle of the Bulge.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, November 16, 2005, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday, November 17, 2005, in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery with military honors.
