Emil J. DeDapper

MISHAWAKA Emil J. DeDapper, 69, of Willow Street, died at 3.15 p.m. Friday in Countryside Place.

Mr. DeDapper retired from the South Bend Fire Department in 1965 after 20 years; then he retired from the University of Notre Dame in 1984. He was bom March 22, 1923, in Mason City, Iowa. He had lived in this area since 1925. He is survived by Betty Eisenhower, with whom he made his home; two nieces, Joyce Einfalt of Indianapolis and Deloris DeDapper of South Bend; and a nephew, Jerome DeDapper of Mishawaka.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 168, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 6, Moose Lodge 58, Volkskring Club of South Bend, BK Club, Firelighters Lbcal 362 and South Bend Police and Fire Retired Association. Hahn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to IUSB General Studies program.
