Eugene J. Pinter

SOUTH BEND - Eugene J Pinter, 74, of East Colfax Avenue, died at 148 pm. Thursday in his home after an illness. Mr Pinter retired in 1969 from the South Bend Police Department after 20 years of service.

He was born March 5, 1921, in South Bend. He is survived by a son, Richard of South Bend, four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a brother, Nicholas of South Bend. A daughter, Jane Ellen Pinter, died May 8, 1975, and two sons, Charles, died May 8, 1975, and John E., died in 1960.

He was Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 36.

Memorial services will be at 11 am. July 8, in St. Pauls Memorial United Methodist Church. Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation. Zahoran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
