Roman Frank Celmer

ST. JOSEPH - Roman Frank Celmer, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at Lakeland Continuing Care Center, St. Joseph.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph, of which he was a member. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Dey Florin Chapel, Florin Funeral Home, St. Joseph, with the Rosary being said at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial, contributions may be made to Lakeland Continuing Care, Volunteer Association Memorial Fund.

Mr. Celmer was born on Mar. 23, 1921, in South Bend.
He had lived in the St. Joseph area most of his life.

He retired from Whirlpool Corp. in 1983 as an engineering manager after 30 years of service. He was a member of the DANK, had been active with the Boy Scouts for many years, had been a member of the Blossomland Drum and Bugle Corps, and was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Army Air Force.

Survivors include: two sons Francis (Carleen) Celmer of Benton Harbor and Mark (Kimberly) Celmer of St. Joseph; two daughters Susan McGrath of Fort Worth, Texas and Mary (Steve) Levi of Portage, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christa, in March 1989; two brothers; three sisters; and a grandson.
