Alvin F. Bajer Jr., 67, of Burning Ridge Trail, passed away at 4:15 r a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, in his residence. He was born Dec. 24, 1935, in South Bend, Ind., to Alvin C. Sr. and Edwina (Milewski) Bajer, who preceded him in death.

On Sept. 26, 1959, in St. Casimir Church, he married Angeline Petrowski. He is survived by his wife, Angeline; three daughters, Amy (Javier) Estrada of South Bend, Laurie (Edward) Tomaszewski of South Bend and Cynthia Bajer of South Bend; a son, Alan (Lety) Bajer of South Bend; grandchildren, Connie, Jared, Michael, Alex, Christi, Brittani, Clifford, Lisa, Eric, Alicia and Taran; one great-grandchild, Mikayla; and by a brother, Bob Bajer of Walkerton, Ind.

Alvin was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, the Married Men's Club, Whispering Pines Golf League, Bowlers Country Club and the Typographical Union. He was an Army veteran, and loved golfing, fishing, playing and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his grandkids calling him "Grampy." Alvin worked part-time at Circle Lumber.

Visitation will be today, Sept. 4, from 2 to 8 p.m. in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Rosary will be said with the Married Men's Club present at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the MDA, or to the St. Casimir Restoration Fund.
