John C. Sanders

John C. "The Judge" Sanders, 72, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2006, in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was born on September 22, 1934, in South Bend, Indiana. Sanders had not resided in South Bend in 20 years. John was a graduate of Washington High School briefly attended Kentucky State and Tennessee State Universities. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Emerson and Emma (Callaway) Sander; and older brothers, Joseph Sanders and Arthur Sanders Jr. 

John leaves to cherish fond memories three sisters, Agnes Stevens of Chicago, IL, Mildred Currie of Gary, IN, and Evelyn Baugh of South Bend, IN; and a sister-in-law, Henrietta Sanders of South Bend, IN. He also leaves many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and in particular his caring niece, Constance "Connie" Sanders, and a dedicated nephew, John Anthony Sanders, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. Sanders will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, located at 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Visitation services will be at 11 a.m. followed by funeral services at noon, with the Reverend H. Gregory Haygood of Pilgrim Baptist Church, South Bend, officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
