In Memory

Robert A Lisenko - Class Of 1953

Robert A Lisenko

Robert A. Lisenko

July 26, 1934 ~ November 15, 2023

Robert A. Lisenko, 89 years old, peacefully passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, and he was surrounded by his family at his residence in South Bend.

Bob was born in South Bend to the late John and Lillian (Wasikowski) Lisenko. On April 30, 1960, Bob married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Georgianna Klosinski, who survives. Along with his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brothers, Alex Lisenko, William Lisenko, Ray Lisenko, John Lisenko; and sisters, Dolores Renner, Virginia Kramer, Evelyn Przybylski, and Lucille Przybylski.

Left to cherish the memory of Bob are his loving wife, Georgianna R. (Klosinski) Lisenko; his children, Rob Lisenko and Leann Price (and her husband Davis Price); granddaughter, Nicole Price; and a great-granddaughter, Makenzie Rogers.

Bob was a graduate of Washington High School in 1953 and Ball State University in 1959. At Ball State he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He also served with the U.S. Marines and was stationed in El Toro California. Upon returning, he worked as a Production Control Manager at Sibley Machine & Foundry and retired from there.

Bob was selfless and generous with his skills with his beloved and extended family. He was a man of great patience and humor. He would quietly listen at family gatherings before delivering a funny quip that could always make everyone stop and laugh, but was ready to chat about Notre Dame football, basketball or the Cubs at any time. He was an excellent euchre player and a constant reader.

Through the years, he was a self-taught jack of all trades when it came to home repair. From plumbing to carpentry, he could do it all for several rental properties. He was our Macgyver when it came to repair and solving a problem.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 1:00 pm the Cathedral of St. Matthew, 1701 Miami St, South Bend with a visitation to begin at 12:30 pm at church. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
