Patricia Louise (Wasielewski) Cramer

Patricia Louise (Wasielewski) Cramer, 87, of Kewanee, IL, formerly of South Bend, IN, died at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the home of her son.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22 at Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church in Kewanee. Celebrant will be her son, Rev. John Cramer. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Cremation will be accorded following the services and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 9 at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church in South Bend, IN with visitation being held one hour prior to the services. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Polish Roman Catholic Cemetery in South Bend, IN. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born at home on February 15, 1936 in South Bend, IN, the daughter of Anthony L. and Esther (Gramza) Wasielewski. In 1952 she met James Lee Cramer on a blind date and they were married on May 29, 1954 prior to her husband being shipped to Germany with the U.S. Army. Survivors include her son, Rev. John (Nan) Cramer of Kewanee, IL, her sister, Joan Halterman of South Bend, IN and four step-grandchildren; Adam, Kristen, Devon and Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 1990.

Patricia attended St. Adalbert Catholic School kindergarten through 4th grade, Benjamin Harrison School 5th through 8th grade and graduated in 1954 from George Washington High School. She also did a tailoring apprenticeship at Richmond Bros. Men's Clothing Store and trained in reweaving and alterations through a Chicago based school.

Over the years she had worked at various places including; clerk at a 5&10 store, served at the West Dining Hall at the University of Notre Dame, baked and decorated cakes, Sunnymeade Cleaners specializing in draperies and clothing alterations, Richmond Bros. Men's Clothing Store as a tailor, alterations at David's Bridal and owned and operated Pat's Reweaving and Alterations.

Pat enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes, crocheting, knitting, drawing, bowling, cake decorating, gardening and reweaving and reknitting.
