WILLIAM E. "BILL" MOORE

SOUTH BEND - William E. (Bill) Moore was born June 10, 1931 in Mishawaka to Mary (Parsano) and Virgil Moore and lived his entire life in South Bend. Married Luella R. Przybylinski on Jan. 16, 1954 at St. Stanislaus B.M. Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 55 years, Luella; two sons, Timothy Moore of South Bend and Brian (Julia) Moore of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mary Lou (David) PeGan of Edwardsburg, MI., and Catherine (Timothy) Toppel of South Bend; nine grandchildren; Jason Moore of Sacramento, CA, Nicole and Billy PeGan of Edwardsburg MI, Alecia (Johnathan) Belmarez of South Bend, James Badics Jr., Alec Brucker, and Peyton Toppel of South Bend, and Clayton and Natalie Moore of Indianapolis; six great grandchildren, James PeGan, Jerzi and Jaida Smith, Konner and Evin Moore, and Kadynce Belmarez; and a stepsister, Rae Ann Womack of Laporte IN.

Bill was preceded in death by a son, David Moore (2007); grandson, Matthew Moore (1990); mother and stepfather, Mary and Lester Overmyer; father and stepmother, Virgil and Mary Moore; brothers, Robert and Buddy Moore; and stepbrothers, Robert and James Overmyer.

Bill served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 and was a member of the Saint Joseph Young Men's Society and Holy Family Catholic Church.

Bill attended Oliver Elementary School and graduated in 1950 from South Bend Washington High School.

During high school he worked at Studebaker two years and joined the Navy in 1951. After marrying Luella in 1954 he worked at Bendix for 19 years and had five children. Bill worked at AM General from 1974 until his retirement in 1995. Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed relaxing with a good cigar. He was dearly loved by four generations of his family and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in Holy Family Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
