Rose M Horvath (Siebrecht) - Class Of 1940 VIEW PROFILE

ROSE M. (HORVATH) SIEBRECHT


Oct. 14, 1921 - May 7, 2013 SOUTH BEND - Rose M. Siebrecht, 91, formerly of Blue Heron Way, South Bend, Indiana, passed away at West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, following an illness. She was born in South Bend on October 14, 1921 to Michael and Veronica (Hollace) Horvath who preceded her in death.

She attended Washington High School in South Bend.

On May 25, 1940, she married Fabian J. Horvath, Jr. who preceded her in death. On September 7, 1984 she married Heinz W. Siebrecht who also preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her son, Fabian J. (Victoria) Horvath III along with several of her sisters and brothers: Veronica L. Fodrocy, Michael "Mike" Horvath, Alex Horvath, Joseph Horvath, Marie T. Tate, Stephen Horvath, John C. Horvath and Frank Horvath.

Rose was employed as a production worker for the Studebaker Corporation during World War II. She also worked at Uniroyal (formerly Ball Band) in the factory in the production of shoes and fuel cells, and later as a Laboratory Technician. Known by many names (Mom, Grandma, G.G., Aunt Rosie, or Rose), she deeply loved her family and friends, music, dancing, traveling, bowling, ND women's basketball, ND football, and the Chicago Cubs.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Ann (Charles A.) McCoy of South Bend. Also surviving are grandchildren, Lisa A. (Thomas B.) Sheridan, Scott M. (Melaney) Horvath, Daniel C. (Sara E. Siefert) McCoy and Tina M. Horvath; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Sydney, Maria, Luke, Ciara, Jackson, Matilda, Truman, Christina, Collin, and Danielle; step-grandchild, Michelle Johnson; and step-great-grandsons, Jason Walters, and also Joseph R. Ray, who preceded her in death. Also surviving is a sister, Helen R. (Carl J. Sr.) Gostola of South Bend. Other surviving family are Ed (Mary) Horvath, Janette McPherson, Margaret "Margie" Horvath, and Virginia Horvath, along with many, many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Rose will be held at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka at 2:30 pm on Monday, May 13th, 2013 where friends will be received two and one half hours prior to the services. Private entombment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. The family wishes to express their thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care and kindness to Rose during her illness and also to the Center for Hospice Care for their services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care.
