GENEVIEVE "JEAN" (KAMINSKI) CYTACKI

Genevieve "Jean" Cytacki Sept. 16, 1919 - Jan. 20, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Genevieve "Jean" Cytacki, 95, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in Sanctuary at Saint Paul's, South Bend. She was born on September 16, 1919, the second of four daughters to Walter and Clara (Koszewski) Kaminski. Her sisters, Carrie Ganus (2014), Helen Nowak (2009) and Stella Taberski (1966), preceded her in death. On November 26, 1938, she married Casimir A. Budzinski at St. Casimir's Church and last resided on Alan Street, until his death in 1978. In 1984 Jean married Edmund Cytacki, and they were married for 22 eventful years filled with world travel, gardening at their home on Fairfax Drive, and many club activities before his passing in 2006.

Jean attended Washington High School and Thomas Commercial before working for the Wilson Shirt Factory.

She touched many during her years from behind the counter at Bognar Insurance Agency, where she was employed for 26 years. She will be deeply missed by her niece, A. Nowak of Chicago, as well as stepchildren, Ed (Donna) Cytacki of Lenexa, KS, Judy (Gary) Dickens of Toronto, Canada, and Frederick (Michele) Cytacki of Pine Crest, TX; along with many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Among her many hobbies, she enjoyed baking wedding cakes for friends and family, decorating, traveling and crocheting. Of her many affiliations, she was most proud of her long charter membership in the Golden Cluster Club at St. Hedwig. Jean was also active with the Rosary Society at St. Hedwig's Church, Serra Club, Knights of Columbus Wives, and the Forever Learning Institute.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Sunday, January 25, 2015, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday, January 26, 2015, at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 331 Scott St., with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. The family wishes to express their thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Saint Paul's for their care and attention, and especially her niece, Bonnie Tafelski, for her kindness and tenderness to Jean.
