SOUTH BEND — Leonard E. "Mixey" Mixtacki, 65, of East Cleveland Road, died at 12:05 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mr. Mixtacki was born July 29, 1929, in South Bend. On Sept. 9, 1967, in South Bend, he married Betty Mae Bogue. She survives with a brother, Bernard of New Glarus, Wis.

He was a veteran of World War II and past commander of American Legion Pulaski Post 357, a member of 40 & B V249, Polish National Alliance Lodge 83, American Turners, Moose Lodge 58, St Joseph Young Men's Society, St. Joseph County Veterans Commanders Council and St. Cecilia Choir of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church for 25 years and was national past chef of DeGare Club. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, where the rosary will be said at 5 p.m.
