Gretchen Minnotte

South Padre Island - Gretchen Webb Minnotte, known as Gg to her grandchildren, 69 of South Padre Island, TX previously of Aspen, CO; Pittsburg, PA; and South Bend, IN passed away unexpectedly on October 1st, 2021.

Gretchen was born in Ohio on February 3rd, 1952 to Gary and Deloris (DeAtley) Webb. She graduated from Washington High School in South Bend, Indiana in 1970.

Gretchen met Kenny Minnotte in 1980 and were engaged two weeks after they met. They were married in 1981 and were married for 33 years up until Kenny's death in 2014. Kenny was the love of her life and now she will finally be reunited with him. As per her wishes, their ashes were spread together in the bay.

There was never a person who met Gretchen and was not instantly drawn to her energy, enthusiasm for life, and passion for living. Gretchen was generous, curious, and creative. She saw beauty all around her and the art she created was a reflection of her travels, the people around her, and of course, the bay. She was always in motion be it on skis, kite board, or bike. Gretchen had a philanthropic heart and was involved in numerous organizations in her community benefitting animals and the sea turtles.

Gretchen is survived by her two sons, Todd Fujawa (Brandi) and Adam Fujawa (Sierra); three grandchildren, Madisyn, Olivia, and Caden; four siblings, Tonda (Robert) Canfield, Susan (Ken) Haithcox, Gordon (Brittany) Weiler, and Debra (Eric) Peterson; sibling-in-law David (Betty) Minnotte; eleven nieces, seven nephews, and many grand nieces and nephews. Her three beloved dogs, Abby, Max, and Lily will keep her memory alive.

Gretchen is preceded in death by her mother Deloris Weiler, her father Gary Webb, her stepfather Gordon Weiler, her brother Gregory Webb and her sister-in-law Barbara (Ted) France.
