SOUTH BEND - Mr. Floyd “Arnold” Gadson of South Bend, IN passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 surrounded by his family at St. Joseph Medical Center.

Floyd was born on June 20, 1960 in South Bend In to the union of Mildred (Childress) Gadson and the late Andrew Charley Gadson, Sr. He grew up in South Bend, IN and graduated from Washington High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army where he served for 13 years before being honorably discharged. Floyd was a member of The New Peter's Rock Baptist Church where he served on the Usher board and chairman of the Trustee Board. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Yolanda Mayberry on May 12, 2001 and to this union 4 children. Floyd enjoyed working in the church, spending time with his family, spoiling his grandchildren, telling jokes and barbequing.

Floyd leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Yolanda of 17 years, three daughters, Tyvisha Gadson of North Carolina, Tyvondra Gadson of Indianapolis and Shaitoia Gadson of South Bend IN, three step children, Kenneth (Keshia) Echols Jr., LaKendra and Jaleal Mayberry both of South Bend IN. His mother, Mildred Gadson of South Bend, four brothers, Darrell (Rochelle) of Denver CO, Gerald (Miranda), Rodney (Neva) both of South Bend and Gregory (Jolanda) of Indianapolis. Four sisters, Marilyn Allen and Denise Smith of South Bend, Diana (Eric) Jennings of Westfield and Michelle (Tyrone) Pope of Indianapolis, IN. Father in law, Jesse Mayberry of Mt. Morris Michigan, Mother in law, Gloria Mayberry of Flint Michigan, sister in law Colette (Juan) Goosby and brother in law Terrence (Debra) Mayberry of Flint MI. Aunts Frances Cattledge of Ohio, Mary (Ray) Frazier, Glenda Gadson both of South Bend, Estelle Lever, Annie Brewer, Joyce Smith, Janet Shaw and Jeannie Mayberry of Flint, Michigan. Uncles Thomas (Faye) Louisiana, Vernon (Pearl) California, Napoleon (Janice) Maryland, James (Jean) Illinois and Melvin (Kim) Georgia. He had 3 grandchildren BJ, Da'Kari and Nala. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Floyd was preceded in death by his grandparents, Birdie Mae and Isaac Childress, Sr, Rosetta and Daniel Gadson, father Andrew C Gadson Sr and his brother Andrew Gadson, Jr.

Services for Mr. Gadson will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Paul Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with viewing one hour prior.
