SOUTH BEND - Zachary James Smith (37) of South Bend, IN was called home because God needed an artist. He is survived by his Mother Suellen Marie Smith, Father Gregory James Smith, of South Bend, IN, Brother Jason Andrew Smith of Huntington, IN (passed away 2/6/16), Grandmother, Eunice Adele Miller, of South Bend, IN, Niece, Gabrielle Star Smith, Nephew, Jason Andrew Smith Jr., Grand Niece Athena Star Smith of Mishawaka, IN and was loved by many family and friends.

Zachary loved to cook and was employed at the Fire Rock Café in South Bend, IN and The Golden Corral of Mishawaka, IN.

Zachary was a graduate of Washington High School of South Bend, IN. Attended the Art institute of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Columbia College of Chicago, IL and Ivy Tech College South Bend, IN.

When Zach wasn't cooking he was hanging out with his friends creating film, music, working on paintings, and fishing with his buddies Dan Badur and Jim Meckley and just enjoying life.

Funeral services will take place at the First Methodist Church, 333 N. Main South Bend, IN on April 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Luncheon to follow at The UAW local 5, 1426 S. Main, South Bend, IN.
