Virginia Mary Jurek

Virginia Mary Jurek, 91, peacefully passed away at home with her loving family at her side on Thursday, December 2, 2021.

Virginia was born March 28, 1930 in South Bend, to the late Adolf & Eleanor (Herman) Romanowski. On October 13, 1951 Virginia married Stanley Jurek, he preceded her in death on February 21, 2021. She is also preceded in death by her sister Rita Andrysiak; brother, Raymond and son in-law Fred Kominowski.

Left to cherish the memory of Virginia are her children, Debra Kominowski and Ray (Fran) Jurek; grandchildren, Matthew (Victoria) Jurek, Laura (Jon) Merchant, Alysia Kominowski, Chester (Erin) Kominowski, Clinton (Paige) Kominowski, Clarice (Kevin) Kashuba; great-grandchildren, Mikaela Merchant, Imogene and Dean Jurek, Bradynn Hamman, Finnick Kominowski, Emmalin, Gracie Kashuba and Ivy Kashuba; sister, Eileen Benifiel.

Virginia had 20 jobs through her life time. She had a green thumb and enjoyed her flowers. Virginia never met a person she didn't like, and loved to joke around especially about her age. She also, enjoyed a good cup of coffee, and playing the lottery, bingo, and the casino. Virginia was a member of the Legion Auxiliary Post 357. Most of all she was very caring mother, and loved spending time with her family.

Visitation for Virginia will be 10:00 am to 11:45 pm Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm in Holy Family Catholic Church.

In Lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
