Feb. 15, 1947 – Nov. 18, 1992

SOUTH BEND – Barry F. Wallace, 45, of 1509 N. Wellington St., died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

St. Joseph County Deputy Coroner, Dr. James McMeel ruled the death a suicide. Mr. Wallace was a warehouse supervisor for Heritage Cablevision.

He was born Feb. 15, 1947, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. Surviving are two stepdaughters, Bonita and Sheila Dowlut, both of South Bend; his mother, Marie Wallace of South Bend; and two brothers, Michael and Steve, both of South Bend.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Chain-O-Lakes Conservation Club, a life member of the Schuyler Colfax Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3194, and American Legion Post 50.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Michiana Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans, in care of American Legion Post 303, 2410 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, 46615.
