David Edward Zielinski

South Bend - David Edward Zielinski passed into his final rest at home due to complications of diabetes. David was born on August 15, 1949 to Egbert E Zielinski and Eleanor A (Zmyslo) Zielinski. David was preceded in death by his father Egbert E Zielinski in 2012. He is survived by his mother Eleanor (Zmyslo) Zielinski, brother Michael (Debbie) Zielinski, brother Jim (Joany) Zielinski, and sister Debbie (Dale) Whipple.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Adam Zielinski, April (Bill) Vanslager, Alex & Calvin Zielinski, Sarah (David) Ferrier in addition to several great nieces and nephews.

David graduated in 1967 from Washington High School, then attended Indiana University Bloomington - Majoring in Anthropology. He attended the University of California Berkley - Post graduate studies for Masters of Anthropology with specialization in Far Eastern Religion, and John F Kennedy University - Master of Arts in Religious Studies.

He was a voracious reader, expert on ancient history, and also had a photographic memory for detail and dates.

David made his home in San Francisco for 30 years before returning home to South Bend in 1994. He was formally employed by the Hammes Bookstore and Southwestern Michigan College.
