Richard Allen Geisler
July 13, 1949 - June 9, 1997
SOUTH BEND - Richard A. Geisler, 47, of East Fairview, South Bend, died at 6:06 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 13, 1949, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. He was employed by Altman Irrigation and retired from the United States Army after 22 years of service.
Surviving Mr. Geisler are his fiancee, Elizabeth McKee of South Bend; a son, Marc Geisler of Alabama; his father and stepmother, Robert and Cheryl Geisler of South Bend; his paternal grandmother, Magdalena Geisler of LaPorte; two grandchildren; a step-grandchild; two sisters, Vicki
Bartone of Hampton, Va., and Cynthia Dickens of White Lake, Mich.; and a brother, William Geisler of Ashville, N.C. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Geisler, who died April 16, 1990.
Mr. Geisler was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War where he retired as Chief Warrant Officer Three of the United States Army. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9820.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home, where a rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m.
