Michael Lee Rans

July 30, 1949 ~ May 13, 2022 (age 72)

Michael Lee Rans, age, 72, passed away in his home Friday, May 13, 2022.  Michael was born July 30, 1949, in South Bend, IN to the late Jefferson and Helen (Ewald) Rans.  He was also proceeded in death by his brother James (Jimmy) Rans.  He is survived by his children, Shawn Rans and Wendy (Jeremy) Hossa and grandchildren, Michael Heath, Paige Heath, and Richie Heath.

Micheal retired from AM General Corp at the age of 50, but also moonlighted as a photographer.  Michael was the President of the Michiana Photo Club for many years, and was known in the area for doing wedding shoots

He had a passion for art, architecture, cars, nature, and music.  He could often be found socializing at restaurants.  Many knew him for his sense of humor and quick wit, with an endless array of "Dad jokes."  He would often reminisce and tell stories about childhood shenanigans with his brother and his cousins.

He was always genuine, had a generous, kind heart, and was loved by all.  His children, and especially his grandchildren, were his pride and joy.  He would tell all he met about their accomplishments.

No services are being held at this time, but an Open House/Celebration of Life will be planned and announced very soon.
