Diane Frances (Kocsis) Zmyslo

Diane Frances Zmyslo, 78, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025 at IU North Hospital.
She was born on October 20, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Daniel R. and Mary Ann (Gorski) Kocsis. On August 31, 1968 at Holy Family Catholic Church she married Thomas L. Zmyslo who survives. Diane is also survived by two daughters, Tammy Marie (Shaun) Boyer of South Bend, Indiana, Tara Lyn (Andrew Benedict) Zmyslo of Woodlands, Texas, two sons, Dennis (Christine) Zmyslo of Rome City, Indiana, Thomas (Jennifer) Zmyslo, Jr. of Carmel, Indiana, ten grandchildren, Brandon (Maddie) Boyer, Zachary (Olivia) Zmyslo, Kevin (Delia) Zmyslo, Johnathon Zmyslo, Kathleen Zmyslo, Jackson Benedict, Mia Benedict, Colin Zmyslo, Marin Zmyslo and Mallory Zmyslo, one sister, Rosemarie (Richard) Morrison, one brother Ronald (Eva) Kocsis, one brother-in-law, Terry (William) Zmyslo and one great-grandchild on the way.
Diane was a 1965 graduate of Washington High School. She was the founder and former owner of Tom’ Car Care and T.D.Z. Properties, LLC. She was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a 4-H leader since 1983 as well as participating in The German Township Homemakers Club. Diane loved to cook and bake, she found great joy in feeding and entertaining friends and family. Her and her husband Tom enjoyed Polka Dancing. Her love was our first taste of home, our first lesson of kindness and our forever source of strength. Diane was a selfless wife, mother and grandmother. She always put others before herself.
A visitation for Diane will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, IN. A rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2822 Corpus Christi Dr., South Bend, IN at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church or The Hospice Foundation in Diane’s honor.
