Julius Papczynski March 27, 1938 - April 10, 2014 BERRIEN SPRINGS - Julius "Pappy" Anthony Papczynski, 76, of Berrien Springs, passed away while surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 10, 2014. Julius was born on March 27, 1938, to the late John and Theresa (Paulinski) Papczynski at his grandmother's home in South Bend, Indiana.

After graduating from Washington High School in 1956, Julius enlisted in the United States Marines where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

After his discharge in August of 1960 he went to work at Lockheed in San Diego until 1968. He then went to work at Kaiser Jeep, building frames for 2 ½ ton military trucks. May 4, 1970, Julius wed the love of his life, Marjorie (Mann) Fox at a ceremony in South Bend, Indiana. On Oct. 3, 1969, Julius was proudly hired on to the Niles Township Fire Department and retired Dec. 31, 1991. After he retired from the fire department, Julius worked as a carpenter until his health prevented him from doing so.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jeffrey Fox, and brothers, Jack, Jim and John Papczynski.

Julius is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marjorie Papczynski; children, Donna (David) Dasse of Moody, Alabama, Robert (Janette) Fox of Bessemer, Alabama, Brian Fox of Niles, Michigan, Todd Fox of Riverside, Alabama, Tammy (David) Hawkins of Summerville, South Carolina and Julian Papczynski of Mishawaka, Indiana; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joseph (Joyce) Papczynski of Niles, Jerry (Mary) Papczynski of Buchanan, Michigan and Juanita (Jerry) Dix of North Port, Florida and many extended family members and close friends.

A memorial service to honor Julius' life will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles beginning at 3:00 p.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior.
