MAURICE L. RICHARDSON

SOUTH BEND - Maurice L. Richardson, 60, passed away on Jan. 6th in Baltimore Washington Medical Center due to pneumonia. He was born in South Bend, Indiana, to Jessie and the late Herman Richardson.

It was here that he attended Washington High School. He was later employed in security at Briggs Chaney Middle School in Burtsonville, MD. Maurice L. Richardson was also a retired staff sergeant of the U.S. Army (military police). He retired after 20 years of service.

Maurice enjoyed old school music, fishing, and sci-fi shows. He also loved his friends and family dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Earnestine J. Richardson; sons, Maurice Richardson Jr. and Dorian Bingham, both of South Bend; stepsons, Tarus Jones and Carlos Handy, both of Odenton, MD; daughters, Monica Belanger of New Carrollton, MD, and Marlene Richardson of South Bend; mother, Jessie Richardson of South Bend; brother, Earl Richardson; seven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Herman Richardson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Hardesty Funeral Home, P.A., 851 Annapolis Road, Gambrills, MD 21054. A prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. The funeral will be held on Feb. 11, 2008, at 3 p.m. in the Fort Meyer Chapel in Fort Meyer, VA. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or to the American Diabetes Association.
