Bernice Elaine (Townsend) Flint

Mrs. Bernice Elaine Flint, 44, of 217 Chapin died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday in Healthwin Hospital after an 11 month illness.

Mrs. Flint was owner of Jelly's Bar. Born on Oct. 13, 1930, in South Bend, she had lived here her lifetime.

On May 26, 1963, in South Bend, she married Duane Roger Flint, who survives. Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George B. Townsend of South Bend; a son, Elmer Joseph Jr. a student at Wilberforce (Ohio) University; a daughter, Tracey, at home, four brothers, Benjamin, Arthur, Ernest and Allen Townsend, all of South Bend, and nine sisters, Mella Townsend, Mrs. Ella Mae Pope, Mrs. Maude Hall, Mrs. Elva Williams, Mrs. Norsis Stricklen, Mrs. Bette Stone, Mrs. Geraldine Blake and Mrs. Gloria Burton, all of South Bend, and Mrs. Georgia Bradshaw of Gary.
