Debra Elaine "Elaine" Odom Rowell

November 24, 1950 ~ June 9, 2018 (age 67)

Deborah Elaine Odom Rowell, 67 of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Saturday June 9, 2018 at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center.
  
  Elaine was born to the union of Dorothy L. and Glenn Odom Sr., she grew up in Laymen Chapel Church and was a member of the Junior Choir. After graduation from Washington High School in 1970 and she attended I.U.S.B. Elaine enjoyed teaching, cheerleading, and empowering students through the Junior Achievement Program. In addition, she was a student teacher at Kennedy Elementary School. She also worked at Uniroyal and Planned Parenthood.
  
  Elaine was bubbly, full of life and generous. She enjoyed shopping, humor, talking, helping others, arts and designing greeting cards and linens. She was an excellent stepper. Elaine was an exquisite cook, able to prepare a seven course meal in 30 minutes. She was an impressive driver and could drive a car like a stunt woman with full Odom skill, who took on Glenn Odom Jr's street racing light weights. 
  
  Elaine was blessed with two wonderful children, Sean Adrian Rowell and Alexandrea Elaine Rowell, both from the union of Alexander Rowell Jr.. Elaine adored her two grandchildren Aiden Alexander Rowell and Arianna Marie Rowell.
  
  Elaine is survived by her mother, Dorothy L. Odom; siblings, Glenn Odom Jr., South Bend, Indiana, Mildred Romell (Ralph) Reed of Seattle, Washington, Sandra (John) Holt of Phoenix, Arizona, Beverly Diane Odom of Tempe, Arizona, Samantha Andrea Odom of Houston, Texas, Steven Rubin Odom and Stacey Ramona Odom of South Bend, Indiana. Also a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
  
  She was preceded in death by a loving father, Glenn Odom Sr.; sister, Ruth Lee; brothers, Paul Harold Odom and Eric Odom.
  
  Elaine touched the hearts and souls of many. She will forever be missed, loved, and cherished by those who were blessed to know her.
  
  The entire family thanks you heartily for your prayers, visitations and acts of love.
  
  Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Laymen Chapel CME Church with viewing from 10:00 a.m., to 11:00 a.m.
