RICHARD R. FRENCH

July 30, 1947 - Feb. 8, 2010
SOUTH BEND - Richard R. "Rick" French, 62, of Humble, Texas, formerly of South Bend, passed away on February 8, 2010, in Humble, TX, following an automobile accident that occurred on January 12, 2010, in Houston, TX. He leaves behind heartbroken survivors who include his wife, Fran (Kranc), the love of his life; two sons, Chris (Lynne) and Jon (Rachel); four beloved grandchildren, Emily, Luke, Sydney and Hunter; and a sister, Dawn French and fiance, Frank Ogorek of South Bend.

Rick graduated from Washington High School.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received the Bronze Star. After returning from the war, he received two degrees from Indiana University.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Richard H. and Reathel M. French, who passed away in June 2007.

Rick was an all-around "good guy" who loved his family and country very much. His positive outlook and happy spirit was an inspiration to us all.
