Rene Bloom

Rene Raymond Bloom Jr.

March 17, 1942 ~ June 22, 2023 (age 81)

Rene Raymond Bloom Jr., 81, better known as Blue, passed away peacefully, on June 22nd, in his home with his life partner Sheryl nearby. Rene was born on March 17th, 1942, in South Bend Indiana to Helen (Bagarus) Bloom and Rene Raymond Bloom SR.

Blue had a lifelong love of classic cars and motorcycles. There wasn’t a time that he didn’t have some kind of classic car in the garage or you would find him riding his Harley. He always had a joke or some kind of shenanigans up his sleeve. He loved to play cards to WIN and always had his cigar in hand! He had friends everywhere. His days at the lake brought him many friends that soon became family. There was much to love about Blue....especially when he was winning!

Rene worked many jobs throughout his lifetime. His last place of employment was E.J White where he worked for 31 years and retired from. Rene was the warehouse supervisor and the man to go to when you needed anything at E.J. White. After retirement he repaired tools for Heritage Tools and there was no tool he couldn't repair!

We will miss his orneriness and his laugh and his great smile. He will be with his daughter, sister and parents and all the loved ones that have gone before him.

Preceding in death are his parents Rene Raymond SR. and Helen Bloom, his sweet sister Barbara (Bobbie) Harris, and loving daughter Debra Renee Harbison.

Surviving family are his daughters Lisa Kay Bloom (Douglas Horning), Leslie Suzanne Bloom (Trent Williams) and Amanda Marriot.  Also Euleta K Bloom (Mother of Lisa, Leslie and Debra) and son-in-law Kim Bussie, 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Sean and Tara Spurrier, Steven and Sarah Spurrier, Michelle Spurrier (Anwar Coalman), and most importantly his life partner Sheryl Spurrier.

Our family was blessed to have Hospice nurse Lori and her devotion to his needs. From all our hearts, thank you Lori and the Hospice Center. Also thank you to neighbors Katie and Craig Van Tornhout for all your help and love all these years.

Palmer Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
