TANYA JONES OBITUARY

Tanya M. Jones Oct. 31, 1973 - March 2, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Tanya M. Jones, 41, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015, in her home. Tanya was born October 31, 1973, in South Bend, IN, to Arena M. Jones and Howard Rankins.

She graduated from Washington High School and then attended Ivy Tech College.

Her employment history included TJ Max and Notre Dame. She was a member of St. Luke's Memorial Church of God in Christ.

Tanya is survived by her mother, Arena M. Jones; precious daughter, Chailyn Malone; brother, Cedric R. Moodie Jr.; sister, Toya Rankins; grandmother, Bettye Shelton; godparent, Cedric R. Moodie Sr.; niece, Cerenity R. Moodie; aunts, Sister Marcella Jones (Fred) Preston, Cynthia (Freddie) Mcknight, Katherine L. Jones and June Hollfe; uncles, Jonathan (Pam) Coleman, Larry, (Carolyn) Jones, Caeser L. Jones, Lawrence B. Jones, Randy Shelton and Vincent Shelton; special friends, Darrin Malone (Chailyn's father), Walter and Ellen Malone (Chailyn's grandparents), Ronetta Hernton and Tonya King (Chailyn's godmother). There are also a host of cousins and friends who will miss and cherish your memories.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Vivian Jones Gray, with whom Tanya and her cousins, Ilicia Mcknight, Joseph D. White, Cierra Jones and Nicole Jones either lived, baby sit by or played together in the Jones family house. Maternal grandfathers, Joseph D. Jones and Levi Gray; paternal grandfather, Bottis Shelton Sr.; aunt, Maria M. Jones; uncles, T.D. Shelton and Bottis Shelton Jr.

Services will be held at Saints Memorial Church Of God In Christ on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., with viewing occurring from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary. www.alfordsmortuaryinc.com
