SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Felicia (Phyllis) Z. Jacobs, 94, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Phyllis was born on September 24, 1924 in South Bend, Indiana and resided there until she moved to Scottsdale in 1991.

Phyllis is survived by her 3 children, Cheryl Vieth (Gary), Michael Jacobs (Susan), and Brian Jacobs (Annette); 10 grandchildren, Amber (Vieth) Brosius, Allison (Vieth) McMeans, Kristen Vieth, Lindsey Vieth, Ashley Jacobs, Ty Jacobs, Nicole (Jacobs) Horn, Alexa Jacobs, Anthony Vesely, and Anna Vesely; and 1 great-grandchild, Benjamin Brosius. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Paul Jacobs; and her 5 siblings, Joseph Zurat, Irene Grzegorek, Evelyn Taller, Aloyius Zurat, and Richard Zurat.

Phyllis graduated from Washington High School in 1942 and enjoyed playing basketball and the saxophone in the school band. She was a friend to all and the senior prom queen. Her career was factory work at Bendix, Ball Band, South Bend Toy, and Trinetics. She was a talented baker, seamstress, and craftswoman, and was meticulous in everything she did. Her personality was warm and gentle. More than anything she loved supporting her sons and grandchildren in their athletic careers. She was health conscious and walked a mile a day until she was 88. She enjoyed keeping current with the political scene and reading the daily newspaper. She was a faithful Catholic and weekly attended Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church of Carefree, AZ.

A Burial Mass will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3801 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ. A luncheon will follow at the church. A private burial will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Road, South Bend, IN. All friends and family are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Phyllis may be donated to Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church, 36811 N. Pima Road, Carefree, AZ 85377.
